THE MOVEMENT

Violence Ends With Us is a regional youth-led movement connecting children, young people, survivors, and allies to take collective action towards ending violence against children across the Asia-Pacific.

Violence against children is one of the most urgent and preventable public health crises of our time.

Every child deserves to grow up safe, protected, and free from violence. Yet for millions of children, violence continues to shape their lives in the places where they should be safest: at home, in school, in communities, in institutions, and online.

VEWU exists because violence against children is not only something to respond to after harm happens. It is something we can prevent, interrupt, and end. And young people have a powerful role to play in making that future possible.

THE REALITY

1 billion+

children experience violence every year

Violence is widespread

Affects children across homes, schools, communities, institutions, and online spaces.

Violence is too often normalised

Hidden behind discipline, shame, privacy, tradition, or the “way things are”

The effects of violence can last a lifetime

Trauma affects the brain and the body, shapes how children respond to etc etc

Violence is met too late

Too many children are only noticed after harm has happened, instead of being protected earlier
